To Indrani
Rehman goes the credit for bringing the Odissi to
the national and international dance scene. When
the form was languising in Orissa, she took the
initiative to study it from Guru Debaprasad Das.
From the childhood, Indrani had been brought up
in an atmosphere conducive to the study of dance.
Her
repertoire essentially consists of compositions,
choreographic creations and traditional numbers,
as taught to her by her guru; her repertoire
reflects the earlier version of Odissi when it
was emerging asd a classical dance form.
