Aloka Kanungo
was trained from a very early age at the Kala Vikash
Kendra under the guidance of Guru Kelucharan
Mohapatra and Guru Mayadhar Raut. She particpated in
several dance dramas and gave solo performances. The
noted film director Mrinal Sen had selected her as a
child artiste for his Oriya film Matir Manisha because
of her expressive face and talent for acting. She
excels in abhinaya and has a natural flair
for expressions. She is based in Calcutta.
