Konark Dance & Music Festivals from 1986  

The objectives of the Konark Natya Mandap are to preserve, promote and project rich cultural heritage of Orissa and to infuse cultural awareness in the minds of everybody by organisations different festivals round the year. It has played a very significant role in the cultural integration of India by inviting reputed artists from outside the state to participate in the famous Konark Dance and Music Festival organised every year from 19th to 23rd February.

Apart from it, the Konark Natya Mandap is serving as a temple of learning. It provides teaching and training in dance, music and yoga in the glorious traditions of the Guru Kula Parampara in pursuance of its conviction that art is a means of spiritual expression.

Everyday, classes on Gotipua, Odissi Dance, the Modal, the Tabla, Odissi Vocal and all other forms of Orissan art and culture are being conducted in the premises of Konark Natya Mandap. The students get the previlage of presenting their skill and talent on the three stages in the premises of Natya mandap during and after the completion of study regularly. Besides, some primitive art forms like Sankirtan, Paika, Akhada, Pala, Daskathia, Ramlila etc. are also being performed on different occassions like Basant Panchami, Jhulan Purnima etc.
